YouTube was founded by Chad Hurly, Steve Chen and Lawed Karim, who were all employees of PayPal. Hurley and chen had experienced difficulty sharing videos that had been shot at a dinner party at Chen's apartment in San Francisco, as Karim did not attended the party and denied that it had occurred and this was the motivation and cause for todays YouTube.
The first video to ever be uploaded to youtube isn't a classic by means. Shot by Yakov Lapitsky at the San Diego Zoo it shows co-founder Jawed Karim in front of the elephant enclosure going on about long trunks. It has racked up a very healthy 11,103,462 views since its online debut on April 23,2005 and you can still view the video Me at the zoo.
The most viewed video of all time is the classic "Charlie bit my finger", with an astounding 525,826,692 with 1,040,348 likes and 150,830 dislikes.
